Stunning area with many highlights all around you! Braemar is a great centre with amazing walks from the village & Linn of Dee. Kirkmichael is a sweet village and Strathardle Glen well worth driving through. Glen Tilt is lovely with great walks but it is very long so plan for plenty of time. All around Aveimore is stunning; Loch Morlich and Loch an Eilein are particularly lovely and also An Lochan Uaine (Green Loch), behind Glenmore Lodge. There are many great tracks allowing for fabulous walking. Glenshee is 45 minutes from us and is a great little ski area if there's snow!

This is one of the most beautiful glens close to us. It is remote but well worth incorporating into a road trip/day tour if you are heading in that direction. There are local walks and you can connect across to Loch Tay nearer the end of the glen. At Fortingall there is a historic old Yew tree and there are quad bike tours Highland Safari in Dull.

Food scene

Go to Aran Bakery for fabulous coffee & treats, The Dunkeld Deli for a delicious sandwich and The Taybank for delicious food & outdoor pizza, and sometime local live music. The cathedral is lovely as are walks along the banks of the Tay...

Great pub with an extraordinary art collection! Worth visiting just to see the Picasso and other sculptures. The pub is great for a Sunday lunch and they allow you to do a tour round the very ecclectic collection of interesting pieces, including a stuffed Queen Victoria. Well worth a visit.

Sightseeing

Comrie is a sweet little village/town just beyond Crieff. It is very pretty and there are some lovely walks - it is worth continuing to St Fillans & Loch Earn if you make it this far. There is a good deli and Comrie Croft is great if you want to hire mountain bikes and do some trails.

Walks round Loch Faskally are lovely, particularly from Garry Bridge where there is a car park. The Killiecrankie Visitor centre is a good place to start also. Ben Vrackie is a local hill that is easily reached from Pitlochry and very walkable. There are several distilleries nearby for tours and many local adventure tourist companies are based from here - from white river rafting to canyoning to historical houses and much more. Atholl Castle is in Blair Atholl 10 mins north and is a huge and very interesting historical house.
