This 900 acre State Natural Area surrounds Mill Spring Cottage. There are phenomenal hiking trails and you can even see Mill Spring itself. Hunting season begins in October and ends mid-January. The trails are still open during archery season, but it is recommended to wear orange while hiking and to not be out around dawn an dusk. Trails are closed during shotgun season, which are various weekends in mid-November to January. The Grist Mill is run by Franklin Creek Conservation Association and is a museum and welcome center for the park. It is open weekends April-October and is chockful of great information and history. Some days you will even see the Mill run!
