Dana Point Harbor
Several good restaurants, boat tours, deep sea fishing, whale watching, Ocean Institute and a family beach.
Laguna is a fun little town to shop and stroll around and of course eat. They have an art festival most of the summer. Las Brisas is a very good Mexican restaurant with wonderful views and prices to match. Cie la Vie , on their upper back patio, is great and much more reasonable. We also like the Laguna Hotel for lunch, and the Surf and Sand has the best bar, Splashes.

Grocery store, Albertsons, and drug store, CVS, are both in this center just down the hill from you. Turn right at the bottom of the hill on Marina Hills Dr. This center is just a couple of blocks on your right at the corner of Marina Hills Dr. and Golden Lantern. Fresh produce is wonderful and there are farmers markets everyday (just Goggle) but you’re going to find Albertsons to be very good. The Sushi place is reputed to be excellent. Baja Fresh is good Mexican take out. Trader Joe’s is also just a mile or so down Golden Lantern on your right.

Restaurants
Our favorite local restaurant is the Harbor Grill. It’s in Dana Point harbor, which is just straight down Golden Lantern. Stay in the middle lane and you’ll go right into the parking lot. Turn right into the first lot. It’s small so make reservations. If you can get a table outside looking over the boats, it’s the best. The other side of the harbor, turn left instead of right when you come in, has several good restaurants as well. Proud Mary’s is nice for breakfast, and the Surf and Sand is good for dinner.
