We can’t recommend Just Be Kitchen (about a mile from our spot) enough!! Quite literally the yummiest healthy food in Denver! In addition to vegetarian options, it’s also Paleo and Whole30 friendly as well.

This place is really really cool. They bring the outside in and have great drink selections. They also make a really good off-the-menu non-alcoholic Mojito! Their pizza is what they are known for food-wise. If you're looking for a casual spot with plenty of seating and an outdoor atmosphere with fire pits, park benches, and turf, all while still being inside; this is the place!

This is THE spot for the best Detroit style pizza in Denver. Located a moderate walking distance away on 32nd street or a very short scooter or car ride. If you’re looking for authentic deep dish pizza, this is your place. We typically get the Brooklyn Bridge; the ricotta is so good.

Similar to Avanti downtown (food hall) but in a quieter neighborhood just across the lake from us. We love going here for a happy hour and the lobster Mac and Cheese. They have a good gyro place as well!

Neighborhoods

Union Station, with it’s grand central area is an historic train station remodeled into the local meeting house. Wonderful restaurants, classy bars, great breakfast (Snooze), a dreamy hotel (The Crawford), and a secret little getaway called the Cooper Lounge. Larimer Square is a Denver staple. Fancy a walk under the lights? Check it out it’s pretty romantic. One of our favorite restaurants there is Osteria Marco (this was Jenna and Nate’s first date spot). REI. The flagship REI store is located off of 15th and 23rd (yes right down the street from us). Great outdoor gear and a fun view of the river park.

Our favorite park and lake in the city. Quiet and a great spot for a picnic, walk, or a run around the lake (it's a 5k if you if you start from our place). One of our favorite activities is to grab an acai bowl from Whole Sol and go for a walk around the lake.

Right up the street (Lowell) from us, you'll find some great little boutiques and local food. Novo Coffee is our go-to coffee spot, and you have to stop into Perfect Pedal while you're up there. A little further East (less walkable) you'll find some great spots like Little Man Ice Cream, Postino, and Linger.

Kinship Landing is located in Colorado Springs and is our passion and dream turned reality. We wanted to create a place where the stranger feels like family and the traveler feels like a local. If you are up for the hour or so drive down to downtown Colorado Springs, this is a must visit. Once you are there, I guarantee you will want to extend your time in "the Springs" and stay a night!

Beautiful easy hike to Colorado’s only glacier! The lake is beautiful, great for a refreshing swim (it is FREEZING so be safe!). This out and back 2.4 mile trail used to be a local favorite, however, as of the past several years it has become pretty heavily used. So either go very early in the morning or avoid the weekends. Either way, it is worth the trip as it’s only about an hour from Denver.

This is our go to hike/trail run spot that’s close to town. You can be out the door, at the top of the hike, and back home within an hour or two. Super green in the spring and early summer, which our favorite time, but it is always worth a trip. Ask us for our secret parking spot if you’re going to go on a weekend as the trailhead gets a bit busy with mountain bikers.

City/town information

Beautiful historic town at the base of the foothills just a 15 minutes drive west of the Carriage House. There are many great things to do in Golden: -drive up lookout mountain -walk along the Clear Creek river path -grab food at Woody's Wood Fired Pizza -take a brewery tour of Coors! (a little secret: do the "short" tour and skip straight to the 3 free beers!) A must see while you're here if you have time! We would suggest planning on this taking up most of a full day just because of all the wonderful things that are there!

Colorado Springs is definitely worth a visit if you have the time! Just about an hour and fifteen minutes drive straight south, you'll experience a town that still feels like the old Colorado before it started to get super popular. The Manitou incline is a must visit if you want a crazy workout (not for the faint of heart; this climb is no joke. We mean this!). Pikes Peak (one of Colorado's wonderful "14'ers", meaning it's over 14,000 feet high. If you don't want to hike it (which is an undertaking), you can drive to the top and enjoy the UNREAL views. Stop in and see our hotel (Kinship Landing) while you're there for some super healthy food and relaxing atmosphere. It's the local hang out in downtown, so you're sure to meet some wonderful people.
