Great beaches!

Nanjizal beach is a little paradise. Accessible by foot within 15 minutes from the house (take the farm track to the main road, cross over on to the bridal path and turn left down the hill at the farmhouse). Best visited around low tide (local footpath map available at https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment/countryside/public-rights-of-way-mapping/)

A wonderful Sandy beach around 10 minutes walk from the house (walk through the back of the farm yard and bear right over 3 fields to arrive at the top of cove). Pay attention to the conditions and take advice from the life guards before swimming (there can be a rip tide, particularly when the tide is going out). Another fantastic beach within 10-12 minutes walk of the house (take the footpath from the bottom of the farm yard to the back of St Levan church, cross over the lane and bear left after the footbridge). You have to clamber over the rocks at the bottom to access the beach, and is best enjoyed around low tide (local footpath map available at https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment/countryside/public-rights-of-way-mapping/)

Another wonderful little cove. Accessible via car (there is a small car park which gets busy in the summer) or better still via the south west row path. There is a small national trust cafe there so this makes a great pitstop on a circular walk back from Nanjizal beach or end route to sennen / lands end etc (local footpath map available at https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment/countryside/public-rights-of-way-mapping/)

Food scene

Logan rock is a great place to look out over this spectacular local coast line. It is also the name of the best local pub and eatery. This is a five minute drive (next right after the porthcurno turn) or alternatively a short walk across the footpath behind the house or via the south west coast path east from porthcurno).

The BEST fish in the country. Choose from 3-4 different outlets all situated yards from the main fish market for the most delicious crab, lobster, hake, monk fish etc....! A good number of restaurants, bars and art galleries have sprung up in this part of town in recent years

A popular harbour side destination. Teeming with activity during the summer months, there are many attractions ranging from food, drinks, art galleries (host to the Tate Gallery) and shopping (including numerous art galleries). Park at the top of the hill in the designated car parks (don’t be tempted to try and park in the village centre!)
