This is my favorite museum in South Florida -- a beautiful and unique place to experience Japanese culture.
This was once home to the Yamato colony and their large pineapple plantation.
The museum, named after George Morikami (pronounced more-de-ka-me) who lived on this land for over 65 years, has art exhibits that change every few months and there is a traditional tea room where you can quietly watch a tea ceremony (ocha). As you enjoy a stroll through the gardens, you'll even find a permanent exhibition of living bonsai trees at the original Yamato-kan.
Check out their calendar for festivals, classes, and special events. They often show films and anime in the auditorium, or you may have the chance to see a taiko drumming demonstration (it's awesome). The Cornell Cafe serves up delicious dishes as well.
Plan to take your time here and soak in the serenity.

Nature
Wonderful variety of animals including Marty the albino alligator. There is also a splash pad for kids and, during the summer, guests can visit at night when it's cooler so animals may be more active.

A real diner with a very eclectic menu and decor, including artwork from local artists. Everything is cooked order, which may take a little longer so go when you're not in a rush. It's open late and has a full bar.
You can sit at the counter, in a booth, or outside.

Easily the best barbeque and burgers around. They never use liquid smoke - this is the real deal. It's a little bit on the pricey side of what you may expect, but this is high quality with actual chefs running the kitchen.
Surprisingly, the queso and chips are amazing!
You order from your table on your phone. There is also a nice little bar inside.

3815 South Dixie HighwayEasily the best barbeque and burgers around. They never use liquid smoke - this is the real deal. It's a little bit on the pricey side of what you may expect, but this is high quality with actual chefs running the kitchen.
Surprisingly, the queso and chips are amazing!

Sushi Jo never disappoints! This is a local favorite with just a handful of locations in the area. Mellow atmosphere and some outdoor seating. Next door is Jo Bistro, with a different menu and a bar.
