This is a wonderful Italianate Village built by local gentry Clough Williams Ellis in the 1920's. You will get a sense of that time when visiting.
it is not just the village, the walking in the woodlands and the beach are amazing.
Here are two wonderful "posh" dining places in Castle Deudreath and The Portmeirion Hotel. There are also cafes and shops on site.

Park on the Croesor road to take some time off (2 and half hours up and back), or walk from Warren Bach (4.5 - 5 hours), the views across Snowdonia from the peak are spectacular. The Moelwyns are often quiet, so if you want to avoid the crowds on Snowdon they are great to explore.
