Sightseeing
Waipu Caves is at walking distance from our cottage, you will find stalactites, stalagmites and glow worms. Bring your gumboots and torch and enjoy!
From the caves, a 2-km walk leads you through a picturesque karst limestone landscape across farmland and regenerating bush to a point where you can take in the magnificent views.
But there's much more to see and do in Waipu, these are my recommendations.

Ruakaka
Perfect beach for the whole family.
This is a great beach for surfing and also families, it has well-kept toilets and changing rooms. You can also start the coastal walk from here and it will take you to Lang's Beach.

There are lots of places to enjoy the local produce, delicious coffee or a cold beer.
You cannot leave Waipu without visiting the Pizza Barn, loved by locals and visitors it offers delicious food, award-winning beer and a great selection of pizzas.
