Probably the number 1 attraction in Brecon Beacons National Park, the waterfalls walk can be very busy, but the waterfalls are well worth seeing. You can actually walk behind the curtain of water at this one, Sgyd Yr Eira.

Hay On Wye is the nicest small town around here. It is well worth a trip any day of the week but really comes to life on a Thursday when it's market day. It is famous for it's book shops but there are plenty of other quirky independent shops selling all manner of things. It's 12 miles from the house.

Fascinating history on coal mining in Wales, plus you get to go underground into the pits, just as the miners did in the old days. About an hour from the house. Free entry.

A great half day trip in Canadian canoes leaving from Glasbury and paddling downstream to Hay on Wye. Take a picnic and stop along the way. No experience needed and dogs can go too.

From day hacks to 5 day treks across Wales, I'd say this is the best riding centre in the area.
