There is a great open beach here, as well as hiking and biking trails. I keep a season pass to this park in the top drawer in the kitchen island. Please return it after using.

Sightseeing
I would checkout the public piers. There are many all along our side of the lake. You can sit and hangout on any of them. Closest ones are reachable as follows -- walk two blocks up the street (Moraine) to Summit Dr. , turn right and head towards the lake and just cross Donner Pass Road. You should see 3 4 Public Piers right in front of you. (Pro-tip: Sunsets are amazing here.)
