We will meet at a sculpting workshop, where local craftsmen create beautiful stone sculptures. We will take a walk up through the Red Hill Informal settlement, through the various camps of which it comprises. The settlement is on the edge of the Cape Point Nature Reserve, and we will visit the scenic lookout spots on our way. We will meet the local tradesmen, one of our mechanics, a lady running a vegetable garden who produces free range eggs to sell. We will end at my house, where you will meet my family and children and have a traditional African meal cooked on an open fire. Vegetarian, vegan or meat depending on your preference. My community is friendly, safe, and survives because we look out for each other. I will explain how my community can function, what problems it faces, and I think you will find it eye-opening the reality of how a majority of the people in Cape Town and South Africa actually live. The "Must Do" activity in Cape Town Ideal for small / private groups - guided paddling experience - taking in the beauty of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean while you paddle gently with dolphins and seals - no experience necessary- you just need to be reasonably fit and able to swim - but very unlikely that you will swim - very safe and stable kayak used. Meandering though the less used roads/tracks we will be on the lookout for wildlife whilst engulfed by indigenous Fynbos and shown hidden vantage points of the peninsula by your Pro. With the Indian and Atlantic ocean breezes briskly blowing on our peloton we will tempo over the mountainous scapes back along the coast cliffs. This ride will ensure you leave enriched with endorphins and everlasting memories. Join me for a morning of mindfulness for an introduction to the Japanese Art of Kintsugi. This centuries old art form is filled with many philosophical lessons and can be viewed as a metaphor for healing ourselves by embracing our own flaws and imperfections. Traditional Kintsugi can take months to complete. In this 3.5 hour workshop I’ll share contemporary methods to practice and apply on any ceramics that need to be mended to allow you to repair and restore into something unique and resilient rather than dispose of. During the 3.5 hours there will be time to order off our menu and enjoy our delish Dimsum (dumplings, Bao buns, Springrolls and won ton as well as rice / noodle dishes). Booking essential as space is limited. What to expect: A morning of mindfulness at our Traditional Teahouse to learn the traditional Japanese art of Kintsugi and to apply this to a ceramic of your own that needs to be repaired. What to bring: A ceramic of your own like a vase/pot plant holder/bowl etc that is either broken in half or with 2 - 4 pieces broken off. A Sound Bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience. Unique private experience. A crystal singing bowl sound bath primarily involves listening to the sounds and vibrations produced by 432 Hz bowls made of high-purity quartz crystal. It's called a "bath" because you are "immersed" in the sounds, letting the vibrations wash over you and making you feel relaxed. The experience is highly subjective and will differ for each person, each time. There is no ‘typical attendee’, everyone is welcome. The only thing required is your presence. Meet Terry Corr, qualified Marine Conservationist and Sea Kayak guide at our Shark Warrior Adventure Centre at Seaforth beach. You will receive a safety briefing before jumping into our comfortable sea kayaks, and head out into the big blue. Rounding the corner, you will be faced by incredible African Penguins at Boulders Beach. Paddling is easy, at your own pace and we reach the remote Windmill beach, where we spend time in the sun swimming. On our return journey, we head out to Ark rock, if conditions allow it to visit playful cape fur seals. We paddle back to our centre to complete our experience. An awesome adventure that is responsible, the best way to meet the Penguins, learn more about sharks, and the wonderful creatures that inhabit the unique kelp forests.
