Bibliotecas

Library
“Biblioteca Jaume Fuster was inaugurated in 2005, and a year later won the FAD Architecture Prize. It’s a gorgeous structure. Its four floors contain an amphitheater, auditorium, exhibition hall for art, a children’s space, a music room, a multimedia area, and a cafeteria. You can spend hours roaming around here. In addition to its impressive collection of literature, the library keeps a large catalogue of travel guides and books. It’s also open Sundays, a good time to go as it’s usually quiet.”

Library
“This gem of a library in the Sant Gervasi neighborhood was inaugurated in 2014. The building is spectacular, bright, and spacious with lots of windows, designed by the BCQ Architecture studio. It has a special space for young readers and is named after the writer and poet Joan Maragall, whose work had a profound impact on Catalan culture. One of the things that makes this place so special is that the building is half-buried beneath the gardens of Vil·la Florida. Make sure to take the garden tour to see how the structure was integrated into the existing foliage.”
