Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Eco-Retreat Casa Leluya is a true off-the-grid experience. It's remote, peaceful and quiet, yet only 20 minutes from buzzing downtown San Jose Del Cabo with its art galleries, high-class restaurants and 5-star hotels. Pristine Playa del Zacatitos is a ten-minute walk and one of the few swimmable beaches in the entire Cabo area.

El alojamiento

This space has been a highly sought-after Airbnb rental (with the previous owner) with an average 4.8 rating based on more than 70 reviews.

Airbnb does not allow to transfer listings and reviews when ownership changes, but here are some past reviews:

- Marion, May 2021 - '[The] place was a great escape from the hustle and bustle. It was nestled in a quiet, friendly neighborhood and unbelievably close to a beautiful beach. This home was clean and the pictures are accurate. The wild donkeys that roamed around the area stole my heart.'

- John, October 2020 - 'Such a beautiful happy place in an expats beach neighborhood. People are very nice and the place is a ten minute walk from a spectacular beach. Can't recommend it enough.'

- Andrew, June 2019 - 'A lovely house that's just as good if not better than it looks on the photos! The design allows for afternoon breezes to flow through the house, and it's just extremely comfortable as a whole. Great stay! Highly recommended !!!'

- Peter, May 2018 - 'This is a perfect place to go shut off to the world and relax. Definitely found my home on the East Cape.'

Isabella, November 2020 - 'This place is incredible! So close to the beach and so many wonderful things to do. Exactly what we needed and I will definitely come back.'

This architectural masterpiece has been featured in many articles and magazines (*). Designed by renowned Canadian architect Javier Campos, it's a stunning centerpiece in the East Cape integrated into the desert landscape.
'We tried to create forms that are very simple and mirror the desert. The houses have the most minimal but essential sense of domestic luxury. It's all there; it's just very pared down' [Javier Campos, Architect]

The house is eco-friendly with stunning 360 views of the ocean and the desert. It runs 100% on solar power. It does not require air-conditioning, because the unique design allows for cooling airflows throughout.

It has all the modern conveniences - washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice-maker, freezer, barbeque, high-speed wireless internet, and cell phone signal (Verizon, T-Mobile, ATT). There is no TV, but there are books, games, and a beautiful swimming pool. There is also a gas fire pit which is great in the evening when the sky is full of stars.

There are two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed. An additional sofa bed, as well as blow-up air mattresses, are available if you require extra sleeping arrangements. There are two bathrooms upstairs and one full bathroom on the main floor that has an outdoor shower. The kitchen has an island and is fully equipped for cooking.

It's a 10-minute walk to the beach and a 5-minute walk to Zac's Bar & Grill. Halfway to San Jose is Buzzards for great food, and Drunkin Sailor is located in La Playita. Flora Farms, Acre and Tamarindos are other great eating establishments nearby.

Zacatitos has a small Farmer's Market on Wednesday morning. Just ask someone and they will direct you to where it is. Get there early enough to get fresh veggies, eggs, chicken, tamales, bread, etc. There’s a much larger market in San Jose on Saturdays (starting in November) and the famous Art Walk every Thursday evening right in San Jose.

20 minutes to the west is San Jose, the nearest town with art galleries, great restaurants, and entertainment.

Further to the east (about 30 miles) you reach Cabo Pulmo National Park with its coral reefs and sea life (Jacques Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez the 'aquarium of the world' ). Great for scuba diving and snorkeling, and you will pass some of the best surf spots in all of Mexico on the way.

ENJOY your stay in Casa Leluya !

(*) The house was featured on the cover of the April 2013 issue of Canadian Architect Magazine and also in Wallpaper Magazine and New York Magazine in 2014.

¿Dónde vas a estar?

Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, México

Casa Leluya is located in the small community of Zacatitos in Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is approximately 12 kilometers or 15-20 minutes by car from San Jose del Cabo, including the last 5 minutes along a dirt road. Zacatitos hugs the Sea of Cortez's white sandy beaches and aqua blue waters to the south, and the mysterious dreamy desert to the north.

Zacatitos remains virtually untouched by the tourism frenzy that exists only miles away in Cabo San Lucas. There is no electricity in Zacatitos. That said, the house runs 100% on solar power and has all the amenities you need.
