Unique miner's casita in the GhostTown. Basic and organic: built by loving hands a hundred years ago, but comfortably updated. Enjoy the kitchen or stroll the neighborhood for dinner out. Porch has award-winning views. Mountains! Stars!

The house was dubbed "Boystown" by Oregon river guides living here in the 80's, and the name just stuck. This stacked limestone cabin can comfortably fit one or two people. It has a bedroom, a kitchen, a living room, and a bathroom. Please note that the bathroom is separate from the house, but only a few steps out the back door. The patio, the porch and the yard all offer stunning views of the mountains and badlands of Big Bend National Park. Not to mention the night sky with stars from horizon to horizon. Float the river, enjoy world class biking or hiking only minutes away at Big Bend National Park or Big Bend Ranch State Park.

We had the most amazing stay at Boys Town. Betty has done an incredible job with the space. It is clean, super quiet, comfortable and gushing with charm. The location is great - just a short walk to "town". Terlingua is a special place that you can only understand once you've been there. Highly recommend visiting the Ghost Town and staying at one of Betty's properties.

Renovated/restored sm. house. Interior content: working class house c. 1960s exc. w. coffee maker & also electric room heaters instead of gas. Privacy: 50-100 yds. from other residences. Sheer curtains in bedroom only. All other windows have no covering. Front porch/ramada offers views of sunrise over Chisos mtns. Back porch/eating area offers sunset views. Entry: Skelton keyed front door, farm pull latched back door. Some doorways are low ... watch your head. No tv, no land phone, cell available. Restaurants, coffee place w/in walking distance. Take care on the somewhat rough lane driving in.

Whether you're looking for personal alone time, a couple's weekend or a spot to stay while you're venturing Big Bend with a group of friends---look no further but Betty's spot. Secluded, nearly silent, and near everything you need---there's no reason to *not* book this place.

Amazing place. Perfect for a visit to big bend and I’d say better than staying in the park even. More high quality space and much better dining options. Great little town and this place is just perfect for peace and quiet!

Betty's place has a great vibe - it feels like it could be a hundred years old, but it's also very cozy with a comfortable bed and shaded patio. Prime location within walking distance of everything the Terlingua ghost town has to offer. It only took me a few minutes to walk to the cemetery for the beautiful Dia de los Muertos festival. If I return to Terlingua I'd stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Boystown for Oct 22-27, 2017. The description of the property is very accurate and we loved every minute of our visit. Close to Big Bend NP for hking. Close to Lajitas for golf. Close to restaurants. Both Posada Milagro for breakfast/ lunch and High Sierra or Starlight for dinner and music are within easy walking distance. (take a flashlight, if walking) We also ate at La Kiva, which is a short drive away. Food and ambience is good at all places. Spent most nights after dinner just Star gazing. After living close to a city for years, we had forgotten how magnificient the night sky can be. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting the area.

I've lived in Terlingua for nearly thirty years. I first came to Big Bend to go on a rafting trip, and I fell in love with the landscape. When I finally moved here, I bought three dilapidated mining ruins, and I've worked on restoring them over the years.

I have managed a bookstore in the Ghost Town for the past 13 years, but when I got here I worked as a river guide. I've also worked as a field biologist all over the western United States. I've released peregrine falcons, California condors and aplomado falcons into the wild, and have studied other endangered species as well. My work took me to Yosemite National Park, the Channel Islands, Montana's Centennial Valley, Rocky Mountain National Park, Big Bend National Park, and the Grand Canyon.

I love to hike and bird and boat and travel with my dog. I'm happy to share my knowledge of this beautiful desert with you.
