1 bedroom apartment in rustic, charming, hidden Fairfax home, about 500 sq ft. A mile from town, in nature with great views. Kitchenette, fireplace, bedroom with double bed, fold-out couch for 1 more, composting toilet, outdoor bathing, hiking.
The house is up a long flight of stairs from the street. The views make it worth it, and so does the private feeling -- there are no immediately visible neighbors. There is a tram railway for supplies and luggage. Great access to hiking trails right from here.
Disponible para huéspedes
Besides the privacy of your own apartment, there are shared outdoor facilities -- claw foot tub, hot shower, outdoor kitchen, large garden, sundeck, and private porch. There is a double bed in the bedroom, and a fold- out couch that sleeps 1 more.
Atención a los huéspedes
Although the owner lives here and is available to assist, the apartment is suitable for use without any required social interaction. On the other hand, some of the best times are when we collaborate on meals and enjoy the experience together.

I am a musician and artist. I think of my house as an art project, a sculpture I live in. I've always lived in interesting, alternative places, and this one is the best yet. It is entirely constructed from reclaimed materials. The original structure was built in the early '60s by a brilliant man, who left it unfinished. I found it in disrepair and have dedicated the last 13 years to completing and expanding it. I do most of the work myself (while raising a son, earning a living, playing music, traveling -- a very full and active life).
Airbnb has been a wonderful thing. I've met many interesting people who appreciate chilling out at my oasis of peace and nature. It's helped me hang on to it.
My 21-yr-old son grew up in this house -- his old bedroom is your getaway nest. I've traveled extensively but always have been glad to return home to Marin County and my beautiful hillside. There's no place I'd rather be.
