Hamilton House is a two-story 1910 home in the St. Clair Place neighborhood just east of downtown Indianapolis. It has great bones, original woodwork, and hardwood floors. I’m enjoying the process of updating it month by month. Downtown dining, museums, and entertainment venues begin less than a mile away. Parks and playgrounds are nearby. Bike lanes and trails welcome cyclists. I maintain two bikes for guest use. I love this neighborhood and city—and happy to share all about it.

El alojamiento
The surf-themed guest room includes a full-size bed, small refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, TV with VCR (and 100+ VHS movies), retro-style record player (and a small collection of records), two chairs, and a desk.

Acceso de los huéspedes
Due to COVID-19 precautions, guest access is limited to the Surf Room with exclusive use of the large front porch (swing and chairs), front door, entry room, and hallway bathroom. Guests also have access to two bikes (with locks and helmets) that are available for exploring downtown and nearby urban trails. Just ask to use the bikes and I will prepare them.

Entry/exit is keyless/automatic.

Otros aspectos para tener en cuenta
My dog Reggie is a harmless, laid back 12-year-old miniature pinscher, but he barks rather ferociously when someone rings the doorbell. Don’t worry—he’s chill.

My 2-year-old cat Willie Mae is indoors only. Also pretty chill.

One guest room is available for one or two guests. A third guest is possible, as a single-person air mattress is available. There is a $19 fee for a third guest.

St. Clair Place neighborhood is adjacent to downtown. It’s one of 22 neighborhoods that define Indy’s Near Eastside.

Within five minutes you can drive or bike (10 minutes) into the vibrant center of Indy.

There’s a great new watering hole called The Mayfair Taproom two blocks away. It’s family friendly but with a great selection of brews. King Dough, a new wood-fired pizza place just 1/4 mile away is turning heads these days. Several local breweries are within 1/2 mile. So are three city parks.

I lead a local nonprofit that develops affordable housing in one of Indy's core urban neighborhoods. I am a community builder and advocate for equitable housing. I’m over 55 years of age and an active athlete as a runner and adventure cyclist. I enjoy travel and have bicycled internationally in India, Kenya, Vietnam, Chile, Ireland, and the Netherlands. My favorite authors are Wendell Berry, Parker J. Palmer, Mary Oliver, and Howard Thurman. I enjoy finding good local food, live music, and cultural events.

Whenever possible, we like to meet/greet guests when they arrive. I work within a few blocks of Hamilton House; I’m usually not far away. I have meetings for part of many evenings, but try to be available at some point each evening. I love this city and neighborhoods and can recommend places to go, dine, drink, play, etc.
