El alojamiento
Please make sure you can fit into the state covid guidelines before you book. Here is some info you need to look through, based on travel restrictions relating to COVID-19.

Please read through the guidelines to make sure you can make it work. Regulations have tightened up and for now, there are quarantine and testing requirements.

Here is a summary:

"Residents of other states must adhere to the quarantine guidelines:

Travelers arriving to Vermont in a personal vehicle must complete either a 14-day quarantine or a 7-day quarantine followed by a negative test in their home state and enter Vermont without further quarantine restrictions.

Travelers arriving to Vermont who have not completed a pre-arrival quarantine must complete either a 14-day quarantine or a 7-day quarantine followed by a negative test in a Vermont lodging establishment or with friends and family (travelers must stay in their quarantine location for the duration of quarantine other than to travel to and from a test site).

Read more about quarantining at the Vermont Department of Health website.

All out of state travelers utilizing lodging, camping and short-term rental properties in Vermont must sign and complete a Certificate of Compliance or affirm a& compliance statement via a digital check box at the time of reservation and check-in to attest that they meet the quarantine requirement or are an essential/authorized worker.

All out of state travelers are strongly encouraged to register with Sara Alert upon arrival to Vermont to get two weeks of daily reminders to check for common symptoms of COVID-19."

If you feel that you fit within the guidelines and if you can take strong precautions while in Vermont, I still look forward to having you!

It is also important to know that it is mandatory in Vermont to wear masks in public. Please respect this order - we need to keep each other safe.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After your day of hiking, skiing, or touring local breweries and distilleries, come home to this beautiful, private tiny house in the trees! Or, just spend the day lazily relaxing by the fire and reading, while the sound of the stream soothes you.

Walk through the woods, up the stairs, and enter into another dimension - one that you won't want to leave! Much thought was put into the design and local, natural, and recycled materials were a priority in its construction.

Soak in the curated interior design while you relax in the living room space and gaze out the large, recycled windows (from an old, local schoolhouse).

Enjoy the deck that overlooks the year-round stream (that may be frozen over in the winter) and let the sound of the water wash through you. You may even see some critters if you're still enough!

There is a sweet sitting area, hammock, and campfire space just below the treehouse right on the stream, with a dramatic view of the treehouse.

You can cook simple meals on the propane campstove (with a griddle option) or use the small charcoal grill in the space under the treehouse. There is a mini-fridge with a separate freezer to keep your fresh produce from the farmers' market and your yummy local beer nice and cool. There's a very primitive (and limited) water system you can use for washing dishes.

There is a basic composting toilet in the treehouse for your convenience, but you also have access to a full, modern bathroom at the house, with a brand new, beautiful shower.

When it's time for bed, climb up the loft ladder to "the nest" and sink into the brand new, comfy bed. Open up the windows to hear the nighttime sounds of the forest.

We prioritize our earth and take environmental considerations into every decision: we have solar; we compost and recycle; we use environmentally friendly cleaning products; we avoid disposable items as much as possible; and we used much local and recycled materials in the construction of the treehouse.

The interior structure is 10'x16' with a loft and the deck is 4'x16'.

Acceso de los huéspedes
Although official check-in is at 5pm, if you'd like to check in before this time, please inquire and we may be able to accommodate.

You have exclusive access to the entire treehouse.

The treehouse is about 200 feet from the driveway and house, yet it's very private in the woods.

I have a garden cart you can use to transport your belongings to the treehouse.

If you arrive early and the treehouse is not ready yet, you are welcome to leave your things on the porch at the house.

Otros aspectos para tener en cuenta
You must be physically able to climb stairs and ladders to stay here. The sleeping space is in a somewhat-tight loft, but the limited space has not been an issue for even our taller guests.

This area of Vermont (the Northeast Kingdom) has snow all winter, and sometimes mud, especially in the spring. The treehouse is located on a dirt/gravel road that can sometimes be challenging if it's muddy or even snowy or icy. We can get a lot of snow sometimes and you could possibly get stuck on your way here or in the driveway. I do my best to keep the driveway clean and sanded, but it's not always possible all of the time. We live in a rural area and services are not always immediately available.

All of that being said, most of the time there are no issues but if you have access to a 4WD vehicle, ideally with higher clearance and snow tires, that is the best case scenario. Keep an eye on the weather and plan ahead: the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is probably not like where you're from and being prepared for weather and challenging driving conditions is absolutely the best policy.

There is a primitive composting toilet in the treehouse, with regular bathroom access (toilet, sink, washer, dryer, shower) in the main house, which is about 200 feet away.

Wifi is not (barely?) available at the treehouse, but it is at the house. There is a phone (landline) at the treehouse and minimal/intermittent cell reception.

I provide at least two gallons of water that can be used for either drinking and/or washing. I encourage you to fill the water up at the house if you need more than this (there is a faucet option in the shower) rather than bringing in bottles. Our water is great!

There is a camping cookstove available (with a griddle), a charcoal grill, and a mini-fridge. You should be able to find all you need for basic cooking there.

Please understand that you are likely to come across various critters - anything from fairly large spiders (most likely - they love the water) to bears and moose (less likely). Walking down to the treehouse you may come across our resident chipmunk, and will often hear owls and loons at night. So, if you want to stay here you must be comfortable with insects and wildlife! This is the woods and nature and spiders and insects are part of the package.

Ubicación

Hardwick, Vermont, Estados Unidos

Hardwick village is three miles away, and it's a lovely, small village with everything you'd need.

The treehouse is located in the woods, by a year-round stream. It is three miles from Hardwick Village, located on 20 acres of woods, primarily maple trees and has a lovely year-round stream that flows by the house.

Nearby there is plenty to do!

Restaurants include:

- Village Restaurant - great food, lots of local stuff, try the Jasper Hill Cheese Eggs Benedict!

- Positive Pie - great pizza and beer selection. My kids love the garlic knots! Say hi to Butch, the bartender - he's an old friend!

- Buffalo Mountain Co-op Cafe - lots of great options for breakfast and lunch! Focusing on local foods, and the store downstairs has everything you need. Lots of great people to meet here, too :)

- The Scale House - an amazing new restaurant in town, focusing on fresh seafood from Mass, but also lots of local goodness!

- House of Pizza - great pizza at a great price! This is where I always get my takeout pizza, but they do have more than just pizza.

- A great new coffee shop called Front Seat Coffee!

There's also the local Chinese restaurant, Yummy Wok, and Connie's Kitchen, a local bakery.

Other food and beverage- related options abound in the area!

- Caledonia Spirits / Barr Hill - I'm a bit bias toward this crew - I've worked for them part-time for years. But, hands-down, the best gin in the world! They had been based in Hardwick but now have a new, amazing distillery in Montpelier. If you like gin, or if you don't like gin, check it out! There's also a lovely vodka made from honey, and a unique barrel-aged gin, called Tom Cat. They've also been working hard on a whiskey that I know will be a big hit!

- Hill Farmstead Brewery - voted the best beer in the world for multiple years, this is a Mecca for beer-lovers! Only 20 minutes away, it is definitely worth the trip!

- Pete's Greens Farmstand - open seasonally, this is the site of the farm of one of, if not the, biggest vegetable farm in Vermont! Found in Craftsbury, also worth the 20 or so minute drive.

- Hardwick Farmers' Market - also a seasonal gem, it's located at Atkins Field at 100 Granite St. in Hardwick lots of great local goodies, from veggies and cheese to plants and crafts, and everything in between! Runs Fridays from 3-6pm, June through September.

- Jasper Hill Cheese - they don't have a visitors area and you can't visit the site, but you drive by them on your way to Hill Farmstead and can see the beautiful, painted barn. Amazing, internationally acclaimed cheeses - you can find at Willey's Store in Greensboro or the Buffalo Mountain Co-op in Hardwick.

- Willey's Store - Located in Greensboro, you will find literally anything you need here! They have local food and beverages, regular groceries, hardware, housewares, clothing and shoes. This is a sight in itself!

- Maple Syrup
- Cabot Cheese
- Vermont Food Venture Center
