Enjoy an outdoor getaway in a unique, clean, creatively crafted 6 by 10’ tiny house- excellent upgrade from camping! Screens on door and windows. Solar panel charges lighting. Picnic table and space for hammock in shaded site under canopy of old growth pine forest. Flip up "cooking counter” off porch. NO CAMPFIRES. No cook stoves inside house. Outhouse one minute walk. BYO linens, water, food set up. Sturdy loft bed 5’11” long with knee wall - tall people beware! (see below for more details)

El lugar

This is a beautiful little space. Everything inside was made by hand: the bed, shelving, and couch. Very important note: The bunk is super sturdy and cozy. It is best if you are 6’ tall or less since the bed is only 3’ by 5’11" with about 2 feet of clearance -- lower in the knee walls (see photos!) It is also possible to bring a mat and sleep on the floor. Bring your own linens: sleeping bag and pillow would be easiest. Feel free to roam the trails on our 35 acres of meadow and woods, winding along1/2 mile of Lewis Creek frontage.

Disponible para huéspedes

The entire house is yours:) There is a grass driveway for you to cross the field to park (arrow on tree to point the way, reflector at edge of the drive to point the way at night) There are trails throughout the woods and some people swim in the creek. You must be a camper prepared to bring your own linens (there will be an old LLBean sleeping bag out there but you may prefer your own or a sheet, etc), cooking equipment (NO cookstove use indoors for your safety and ours!), and water. We built the three sided (no door)outhouse which is a one minute walk from the tiny house. You will feel rejuvenated after living here!

I spent one night at the tiny house and I arrived after dark (my fault - Vermont is too scenic and I kept stopping to take photos!) so it took a bit to get acclimated. Once I got set up (and found the outhouse, lol) everything was great. Definitely heed the warning about the small bunk. I'm 5' 3" and I couldn't quite stretch out all the way! In the morning I hiked down the trail to the creek and had two encounters with wildlife. Two white tailed deer leapt across the path ahead of me and on the way back I saw the biggest turkey I've ever seen fly up towards a tree ahead of me. Though we didn't meet, Wendy was very helpful via message and there was a handy folder of information in the tiny house. I had a great time!

Wendy offered great recommendations for hiking and boating in the area, which I really appreciated. The Tiny House itself exactly as advertised. It's a great value for what it is, namely a charming spot to spend a night or two. It was clean and there were many little touches in the various nooks and crannies (e.g. personal hygiene supplies, the story behind the house, and more). Communicating with Wendy was easy, and the map of the property provided in the house was helpful. FYI, I'd say the outhouse is a less than 1 min. walk away... more like 20 or 30 seconds! Thanks again, Wendy and family!

Super cool accommodation in a very beautiful location, particularly with the changing leaves of the fall! Just the one small bed, but there were two of us, and we made it work by bringing a camping mattress. One of us was on the floor and one on the bed! Wendy was very helpful, and quick with her responses! We would stay here again!

Peaceful and quiet. Simple and easy. It’s for a particular type of traveler who is fine with peace, quiet, and the Vermont woods. Rustic comes to mind. Wendy could not be nicer and more responsive. There are, by design, few amenities, but for the self-contained traveler/backpacker type it is perfect. It is slightly challenging for very tall people, as the bed is relatively short in length. It’s a lovely spot in the woods, with a wonderful host.

Try to arrive during the day! You don’t want to be wondering round the woods trying to find the outhouse like me. Luckily Wendy was available to show me. The tiny house is small, sweet and simple. It has a nice view of the woods and meadow. I wouldn’t agree that someone 5’11 would be able to lie flat. The house may be 6” wide but it has a slanted ceiling. Nice quiet location.

Wendy was a great host. Very accommodating. So kind in making sure my dad was comfortable (which I appreciated) and double checking that he'd be ok with the ladder. My husband and I would love to check it out another trip. We live the idea of tiny houses. What more does one need!

I had a wonderful stay in the Teeny Tiny House. It was clearly built with love, integrity, and intention and you could sense that in the small details of its construction. Tom and Wendy were quick to reply to questions, and generously shared a map and information about trails around the land. I enjoyed morning strolls to the creek, the sounds of the woods at night, and scenic visits to the outhouse. This is a great spot to stay if you are visiting Burlington as it gives you a sense of being 'disconnected' while still being close! Don't forget to bring your own bedding, water, headlamp, and camping cooking gear- and know the loft bed is small so be ready to get curled and cozy. Enjoy this gem- you'll want to return!

We are a family of 5 with 3 sons who have all moved away from home (age 30, 21 and 19), living in Vermont. We are interested in local food systems, art, music, and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, canoeing. We love friends and family. We like to travel. Our children attended the Lake Champlain Waldorf School. We live an eclectic and interesting country life.
