This is our largest of 3 rooms offered on AirBnB. We are located about 5 miles from Charleston Peninsula and about 7 miles from Folly Beach. There is a beautiful tidal creek and marsh which borders the back yard. The neighborhood is a good pet walking area. James Island County Park is about 5 minutes away.
The Angel Oak ( 600 y.o. Live Oak Tree) and America's only working Tea Plantation are located on nearby Johns and Wadmalaw Islands.

El alojamiento
Our home is available for guests after a two and one-half year renovation. New hardwood floors, paint and decorating throughout make generous bedroom/bath space very welcoming.
The bedroom space is large and accommodating with a queen bed and rocking chair with foot stool and two other chairs, a mini refrigerator, television with local channels and in-room router/modem providing a strong wifi signal. There is a roll-top antique desk for all the writer within, or just to do a little office after work-work!
There are snacks, waters and toiletry essentials which you may have forgotten to pack.
The bath has a double vanity on granite counter top with large opening window for ventilation. The shower and bath floor are epoxy sealed slate tile. The shower gives one the option of a hand held shower nozzle or overhead rain shower.
The large deck, hammock, dock and kayaks are here for your use when available.

Acceso de los huéspedes
You'll have access to your room and private bath, adjacent deck and all other outside spaces including the crabbing dock on Simpson Creek (tidal), a great entry point for high tide kayaking.
Privately enter your room directly off the large scenic back deck.

Otros aspectos para tener en cuenta
Our kayaks are available for your free use during high tide each day if not in use by our kayak experience guests. Consider our guided tour AirBnB Experience of the creeks and marsh. Find it on AirBnB Experiences.

Below are some questions we've recently answered regarding Covid 19.

Dear Guest.

Regarding beaches, Beachwalker county park on Kiawah island is sometimes lesser known and lesser crowded.

The extreme west end of Folly Beach usually can be enjoyed alone, though it takes some walking.

Regarding mitigating viral infection risks, all hard surfaces are washed with either a bleach solution or an ammonia solution of higher than usual concentration depending on the surface involved.

All washable fabrics are washed between each guest. Non removal fabrics like upholstered chairs are treated with an alcohol based disinfectant

Additionally We've stopped our breakfast service and are providing an outside k-cup coffee and tea station. Additionally individual yogurt and fruit will be available.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Dan.

Hi. I'm Dan and I'm a semi-retired widower who, with the help of my 16 year old rescue dog (Mahoney), host folks from all over the world. We look forward to meeting you. I've spent most of the last 30 years in the biotechnology industry. I last worked for a group who manufactured DNA sequencers. I traveled extensively installing and servicing these instruments. I've stayed in more than a thousand hotel rooms and dozens of B and B's. I'm a life-long sailor of sailboats and small power boats, a former marine surveyor & USCG licensed 100 Ton Master. I've cruised the east coast and sailed some in the Caribbean; I may pursue that again if I ever truly retire. As your room host, I try to find a way to improve your Charleston visit and then get out of the way. As your Kayak Experience host (airbnb.com/experiences/214215) I try to show you why I love where I live. I hope you enjoy.

Durante tu estadía
We are around a good bit during the day and do live here with Mahoney, the WonderDog. I'm a 18 year resident of the Charleston area and as such can be a resource regarding things to do.
