John's place was everything I needed for my week long stay.
Easy access via keybox for which you are given the code in the house manual
Excellent wifi that never dropped, again code given in the house manual
Kitchen with everything you need, fridge with ice maker, oven, toaster, coffee maker
Access to lounge with tv, iron with board and hairdryer
The outdoor patio offers a nice view of Pittsburgh across the Monongahela River
Very nice bed (Bamboo mattress protector, look it up if you have not heard of this brand, I have the pillow and they are super comfy)
Open closet space with enough room to store your case, lots of hangers along with a hanging shelf and 3 drawer cabinet
Lots of plug sockets
Heater which keeps you toasty
Window to let in natural light
Hills, hills and more hills. Pittsburgh is hilly but we cannot blame John for this. All I will say is that the house is half way down on a hill that requires around 200 paces to reach, I counted one day to help keep my mind off the exercise I was doing :-).
The #51 bus is 5 minutes away (walking up the hill then down to S 18th Street) This bus takes you to E Carson (South Side's main street with bars/restaurants/shops) or right into downtown.
I used this place to attend three Penguins games and a Steelers game. It was a great choice because of the above. It got me to the games via the #51 and got me home every night.
Tip - If you attend a Steelers night game and the bus has finished you can still get home via the Light Railway (known as the T) then use Lyft. Uber and Lyft surcharge after the game so take the T, for free, to South Hills Junction, from here order a Lyft at the cost of $8! Lyft/Uber even from Station Square was $25 with the surcharge.
