El alojamiento
I spent a year traveling to every country in Central America. This specific spot is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, and now I live here! We are a very remote location, but we chose it based on its natural beauty. Come swim in our natural pool with us, right next to the waterfall!

Although we are a very remote location, we offer many amenities that you would have in your own home. We have flushing toilets and working showers. We offer a fully stocked kitchen which you can use. We also offer easy to prepare food for sale, as well as a family style lunch and dinner provided by our staff each day. We have a fully stocked bar and our drinks are very cold (courtesy of two propane powered refrigerators). Our electricity is provided by a solar panel system, and we keep a gas generator as an emergency backup.

Our property is lined with a creek on one side, and the Cahabón river on the other. We began planting the moment we arrived here, and several of our plants are already producing food. From plantains and bananas, to pineapples, papayas, yucca, heart of palm, rhubarb, sweet potatoes, squash, and the list goes on.

Please be aware that you will have to hike roughly 30 minutes through the jungle to arrive here (a truck that will bring you to the hike in spot is provided, as well as guides who will help with your bags). It's a perfect for for adventurous travelers, and once you arrive you will see that it was completely worth it.

Acceso de los huéspedes
Getting here can be a quick easy walk or a difficult challenge depending on the weather. Please contact us before arriving so we can arrange tranportation for you from Lanquin to where you need to hike in from. We will have someone waiting to help you hike in. Please be aware that part of your cleaning fee goes to cover a small portion our costs associated with getting you here from Lanquin.

Once you are here, you are welcome to use all space on the property as well as walk down to the nearby waterfall, pool, and beach. However if you want to go on a longer hike or farther away from hostel, we highly recommend using a local guide.

Otros aspectos para tener en cuenta
The hike to get here changes dramatically based on weather conditions. The walking pathway is an unimproved Mayan path that has been there for hundreds of years. It can vary from a short 20 minute hike in sunny weather to a 35-40 minute hike when it has been raining and the pathways are muddy. We plan on improving this path in the future but it will take a community effort as this pathway is technically located on several different people's private property (although it is considered by the community to be a public pathway)

We are quite literally surrounded by local Mayan farmers. They are extremely friendly people. Don't be surprised if they stare at you. This area doesn't have electricity (we are solar powered) so seeing new foreigners arrive all the time is better than watching TV for them
