Just 1 hour from Washington DC, the spacious and tranquil Farmhouse at Dogwood Pond resides on 50 acres of land, and includes a large pond equipped for fishing. Our guests enjoy the nearby Purcellville Historic District for quality restaurants and cafes, vintage shopping, and the W&OD trail entrance at the old Purcellville train station. The property is also a swift 20 minute drive to historic downtown Leesburg, Waterford, Harper's Ferry, and endless wineries, breweries, hiking and bike trails.

Private: you cannot see another house from the front porch or back decks and it has thick woods all around. At the top of the property are soaring views with 3 miles of visibility. Welcome to John Pope Cabin Nestled in foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, John Pope Cabin overlooks an open field where hawks hunt, bears sometimes stroll, and our neighbors’ horses peer over the fence. Feel free to pet them but don’t feed them! Built in 1865 by a Confederate soldier returning from the Civil War birthed and raised 11 children here. The cabin remains rustic, comfortable, and full of character. Ahh…the porch. Relax in the swing, watch the fields change with the light.

The Cottage

Need some time to refresh? Spending time in the foothills of the Skyline Drive at our cozy cottage may be for you. Well behaved dogs are welcome but not on furniture. The driveway is long and home is very secluded. Winter access will be subject to weather conditions. Driveway does not get plowed and gets rutty during rainy periods. Cell service is spotty on Browntown road. The cottage has a landline and wifi. Use your wifi calling feature for cell phone use. More info under photos.

The Forge on Sunnyside Farm

Sunnyside Farm offers a luxurious stay in a beautifully restored historic forge. You’ll be greeted by the farm’s delightful hosts, Jimmy and Dean, two friendly Potbelly pigs. Beautiful cows forage right outside your door. The Forge features exposed wooden beams, brick walls, and cozy furnishings. And of course we are located in heart of Loudoun County's wine country, great spots for picnic and tasting of great selection of wines.
