Take a stroll, a picnic or launch your paddleboards or kayaks here. People love the location for its peace & quiet.

Tanekaha Treehut is a cosy little cabin nestled in a private forest valley, the perfect romantic hideaway near some of New Zealand's best beaches. Enjoy the covered deck, native bird calls, and the sound of a nearby waterfall. A modest kitchen provides self-catering essentials, while the private bathroom, down a well-lit forest path, offers a tranquil alfresco shower experience. The Treehut also features its own private hot tub. A unique and understated escape in the heart of the Coromandel.

Best spot in Whangamata: 1950's beachfront bach

Set amongst pohutukawa trees, this original 50's holiday house is located right on Whangamata beach. Enjoy unobstructed views of the ocean from the deck and huge front lawn. The famous Whenuakura (Donut Is.) is opposite as well as Hauturu Motu (Clark Is.), accessible on foot at low tide - a Kiwi rite of passage. Minutes to the local shops, bars and cafes and a short walk to the nearest convenience store. A great children's playground can be found at Island View Reserve at the end of the road.

Peaceful rural setting just 4 km from the iconic Whangamata beach. Sealed road for cyclists and just 2km from beautiful bush walks and waterfall. We are a small farm with cattle, sheep and chickens. There is an organic garden and orchard. Self catered but continental breakfast can be supplied on request at $12.50 per person (cash).

Sweet little cabin in the woods that we promise is definitely not the start of a B-grade horror flick (unless you're not great with the odd bug and some low-fi living) A bit of a glamping experience - we use solar lights and a camp stove, but there is some pretty great luxury features. Theres now a wee outdoor patio area, extra comfy couches and the valleys finest loft-based chillzone that takes advantage of the awesome views of the surrounding hills.

Hideaway by the Sea (Dogs welcome)

You owe yourself a break by the sea. Chill out on Whiritoa's uncrowded beach only 80 meters away. No sound or sight of traffic here and low light pollution in the village provides front seat tickets to galaxy granduer. Whangamata is only 12kms drive if you would like to eat out. Accommodation is downstairs with your personal entrance. Double bedroom with queen bed, lounge/kitchenette, laundry/bathroom. Comfortable and clean.
