We border a Department of Conservation reserve that resonates with the sound of birdsong, enjoy nature on your doorstep, private access to the Whanganui and Whakapapa Rivers, great fishing, swimming and walking. Lovely & open self contained, 1 bedroom stand-alone cottage. Approximately 200 steps, & one street back from Westshore Beach, which is great for swimming in the summer. Queen bed. En-suite bathroom. Close to a cafe, dairy, fish n chip shop, & pharmacy. It’s a 7 minute drive to town. It’s a few minutes drive from the airport (or approx 25 min). Continental breakfast of home made cereal, milk, fruit, & Nespresso coffee, tea provided. Happy to consider & negotiate longer stay. We live next door.

Wairere Cottage is the perfect place to stay before or after biking the Timber Trail. Situated 2 ks down a private driveway off SH4. Wairere Cottage sits peacefully on our working sheep & beef farm. 5 mins to Ongarue village, 40 mins drive to TeKuiti, 20 mins to Taumarunui. Makes it an ideal base to go off mountain biking(Timber trail), walking, railcarts, jetboating, golfing all in Taumarunui. With Skiing at Mt Ruapehu. Stunning night sky ( Weather permitting)

We are not far away from Mount Ruapehu for fun days skiing or hiking New Zealand’s most popular walk the ‘Tongariro Crossing’. At the end of a busy day exploring Lake Taupo we recommend a visit to Tokaanu Thermal Hot Pools. We offer a relaxing spot to unwind and enjoy some true kiwi living

The Cottage

A private self contained cottage in a rural setting. This restored 1930's cottage is very cosy and comfortable. A heat pump is available for those chilly nights. The Cottage is located on a lifestyle block approximately 14 km from the centre of Palmerston North. The cottage looks out over a pond and paddocks with ducks and sheep. Guest access is by keypad on the main entry gate to the property.
