The community, then called Camp Gordon Johnston, was set near the beautiful beaches of the gulf coast, and St George Island, for easy access during training for the D-Day invasion! Short drives from several exciting recreational activities, golf course,aquarium,restaurants,shopping, antiquing, bottle house,souvenirs,swimming beach just four miles away. 27 miles away is St.George Island with beautiful beaches for swimming, a light house, restaurants, and seafood.

Located in St. James in Franklin county, you are 44 miles from the Tallahassee airport, it is convenient to a big city, while set in a quiet, rural beach area. You are only minutes from St. James Golf club, Carrabelle (7 miles away with public beach), St. George Island, Panacea and Apalachicola. Swimming not recommended (more like a bay).
