I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

Meticulously restored to its former glory while being fitted with the most modern amenities, our house is one of the finest remaining examples of the particular Taisho era architecture of the 1920's. Located 12-15 mn by foot from Kyoto station, 350m west of the UNESCO world heritage site of Toji temple and 2,500 Sqft in size, a total of 6 guests can be accommodated in 4 bedrooms, complemented by 2 bathrooms, 2 WC, 2 Japanese gardens.

You can also use wifi. The bath is about the size of two adults and uses Japanese cypress. It will be a very beautiful room just opened in January. Please try and stay at once. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

Tubara is in the Higashiyama in Kyoto. You can go to so many sights (Kiyomizu temple, Kenninji temple, Yasaka shrine, Fushimiinaritaisha, Gion area, Kamo river, downtown..) on foot! Tsubara was 100y old Machiya, we lovely restored all possible to original style using antique fittings & materials by traditional craftsmanship. We love Tsubara, we hope the guests too! The bed can be folded so you have enough space to work, study, eat etc in your room. You can also use 2 bicycles for free. There are many hotels, hot spa and restaurants nearby for dining. Try to visit Kyoto Aquarium and Kyoto Railway Museum in Umekoji Park if you have spare time.

The price is for up to 2 people. An additional 7000 yen/night will be charged for the third person. This is a compact old Japanese house. The stairs are steep, unsuitable for the elderly or small children. 10 minutes walk Nijo Castle, a registered World Heritage Site. Quiet hour 8am to 8pm.
