Stone Mansion

The traditional stone mansion is situated 25km east of Chania and 30km west of Rethymno in the center of the picturesque village Kaina. It was built in the end of 19th century with dominant materials of stone and wood.The house can accommodate up to 15 people as composed on the ground floor of a large living room with a fireplace,a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious bedroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a terrace with panoramic view of the White Mountains and the olive groves of area.

The house is located in a small traditional village which consists of two neighborhoods built on two elongated hills and separated by a ravine. At the bottom of the ravine is a very old stone fountain with trees. The houses are masterfully built of stone on the successive levels of the two hills thus providing a beautiful traditional settlement. The view to the opposite villages are impressive. The flora is especially rich in herbs and medicinal herbs such as oregano, thyme and labdanum.
