Qué vas a hacer

Tour-goers will meet their guide on Tahoe City's Commons Beach 15 minutes prior to launch (2 hours before sunset). We'll paddle South towards Sunnyside talking about Lake Tahoe's History while the sun begins to sink. After an hour of paddling South we'll pause for a brief photo opportunity and then turn around for our paddle back to Commons Beach. As we near our end point the setting sun will color the horizon and glassy smooth waters to deep pinks and purples. You'll get dramatic photos and an unforgettable experience for all!

I am the founder of Tahoe City Kayak and Paddleboard and Sand Harbor Rentals, we rent and provide guided tours at two of Lake Tahoe's best beaches. I've been avid paddler for over 30 years, and have taken thousands of people out on lessons and historic kayak tours. I train every year with the ACA (American Canoe & Kayak Association) and have completed their Level 3 Instructor/Guide course. I am well versed in Tahoe's history, and also in "dad jokes." I think you'll have a good time on my tour.

This was an amazing experience! Andrew knew that I had kayaked before and so we did not waste a whole lot of time talking about what kayaking entailed. Pretty much, it was a review of expectations. We then went on a long trip around the shoreline, talking about ourselves and the incredible history of Tahoe. He tailored the experience to my interests and spent the time to get to know me in order to do so. The weather was horrible, but I was given the option of rescheduling or getting a refund before we started, which I really appreciated. Thank you Andrew! This was an amazing experience that I will never forget. :D

Alex and Annabel were our guides and they were awesome. Very welcoming. At first my girlfriend and I tried the tandem kayak but it just wasn’t working out. Definitely suggest just riding as a single rider. It was pretty cold so I would recommend bringing extra warm clothes. Specifically something to keep your feet’s warm. All in all a great activity to do with your group when you’re out here especially for the price. The views were fantastic

Tom, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave helpful hints on how to paddle more efficiently and shared stories about Tahoe's history. Best of all, the sunset on the lake was nothing short of magical ... colors only nature can produce!

Alex and Ryan gave us a truly amazing sunset kayak trip. We could not have asked for a better experience. They gave us a great education on Tahoe and were fantastic with our reluctant 8 year old son. We will be back for sure and requesting the same guides. Thanks guys

My husband and I rented a Tandem Kayak but did not a make a great team. My husband and I were like Alexis and David from Schitts Creek (on Netflix) and unfortunately had to turn back to the Shore. The guide was super helpful in offering single kayaks for us to practice. We were horrible students as both of us did not know how to Kayak, they were great!

We had a great time with Matt on our sunset cruise. We got to know everyone on the tour well and learned history about the area. We had so much fun we thought about doing it again before we left!
