Qué vas a hacer

We’ll start off by meeting at a local bakery, where I’ll treat you to a light snack and introduce you to our humble, traditional breads usually eaten during breakfast.

After a short walk to the wet market, we'll munch on a tropical citrus fruit.

We'll then proceed to Dapitan Arcade, which is my favourite place to scour for export-quality homeware finds at bargain prices. Think ceramics, wooden tableware, weaved baskets, glass jars, unique trinkets, vases, beautiful lamps, and so much more. If you love designing your home and have a penchant for one-of-a-kind tasteful decors, you’ll surely enjoy this place. It's a hidden treasure trove for travellers and locals alike. I’ll also make sure you get them at the right and best prices! :)

Afterwards, we’ll go to Banawe and have our lunch in one of the well-loved restaurants in the area, and then get some milk tea down the street, which is a popular drink that’s been a part of our casual dining culture in the last decade. We'll end the tour with a short visit to an organic grocery store.

If you really want to experience a local neighbourhood that’s off the beaten path, come and explore this side of town with me, and we’ll have a fun day together! :)

NOTE: You can request a specific date for the tour if the slot isn't open yet, just message me and I will happily accommodate you!

Hi! I’m Steph, an entrepreneur from sunny Manila, and I own the local leather brand Cocooni. I love travel, nature, design, good food and great company!

The Banawe neighbourhood is where I grew up in and I’ve witnessed it evolve for over two decades, from a few scattered establishments to now a bustling street of restaurants offering authentic, unpretentious flavours!

I’d love to take you around this district I call home—an area you won’t just find in any travel guide, but a place where true locals go to. Let me introduce you to a few gems on this side of the metropolitan! :)

Dónde vas a estar

We'll be going to a small corner bakery in the neighbourhood. We'll also take a short walk to the wet market and from there, Dapitan Arcade is just a stone's throw away. Here we'll find some export-quality homeware goods at a fraction of the price you find in malls. Afterwards, we'll enjoy lunch or dinner at a popular restaurant in Banawe, then ride a jeepney to finish off with a milk tea drink in another establishment.

Steph is fantastic. We started off with pandesal, learning more about Manila and then had a terrific time wandering the markets with her. We felt like she let us in on a local secret. We got some great bargains that will remind us of our time here. Plus you felt like your purchases were helping a local community.

I loved touring Quezon with Steph ! She was so nice and I tried many things I wouldn’t have thought to try thanks to her. Would definitely recommend and I recommend to you if you want to see a lovely area ( and something else than Makati/BCG).

Steph was really friendly & bubbly. She was still accommodating eventho I was late due to trouble booking my ride to the meetup location. Was introduced to local bakery establishment which provide local pastry and delicacies which was really good(still thinking how nice it was when we had those for breakfast and shared stories). We walked around the districts and was given an in-sights about how the locals were in the surroundings and the progress she noticed growing up in that community which was really interesting. Overall it was a really awesome tour! Hundred Percent recommend this tour and experience this for yourself and see the other side of Manila that is out of the tourist bubble

Steph brought us around the area and it was really eye opening. We couldn't have done this ourselves. Felt safe throughout the experience and experienced local experiences like haggling for thrift store goods, and taking the local jeepney. Steph was a charm, she shared a lot about Filipino culture with us and we learned so much about the Philippines from her! Really enjoyed the experience with Steph.

A really interesting tour if you want to get out of the usual areas in Makati and BGC. Was good to go to a local market and see how the locals went about their weekend. Steph was really nice and thoughtful too!
