In 2018, a private organisation called 'Project F' was launched. The organisation is based in Fukagawa and aims to use musical performances, guided tours and workshops to hand down the memory of the firebombing of Tokyo to new generations. The organisation has diverse personnel, from curators of the 'Center of the Tokyo Raids and War Damage' and staff from local media companies, to picture book narrators and singers.
I studied world history and Japanese history at Waseda University, and now attend lectures on the curriculum for teaching staff. I have a particular interest in handing down the memory of war and have conducted interviews with victims of the firebombing of Tokyo.

Dónde vas a estar

The 'Center of the Tokyo Raids and War Damage' is a museum affiliated with a private academic research institution. It was established in order to hand down the memory of and make clear the reality of the damage inflicted on the world under the shadow of World War Ⅱ, starting with the firebombing of Tokyo. The center is located in Kitasuna in Tokyo's Koto Ward. This is part of downtown Tokyo and has been the heart of Japan's manufacturing.

For those who like history there are so many similarities on the Asia with western side of the things happened in the past, the unexpected surprise in the end of our journey took a small lesson of origami Many thanks for the tour

It is a unique experience in which the stories could not be attained from booms. The stories behind the scene that Kaoru conveyed were the historical facts from a humane perspective. Only we feel that the historical walks at the small town and the visit to the survivors can be extended a little longer. May be visit to one more survivor :) ......Interesting chats with the stationery shop owner who has experienced the air raid when he was seven. Insightful ! We could see his passions in life and the neighbourhood.

Kaoru provided an excellent tour of the exhibits at the Center for the Tokyo Raids Museum, as well as a journey by bus to see the buildings that survived the bombing. I learned important stories about the often-forgotten but deadliest bombing in history, Operation Meetinghouse.

Kaoru did an excellent job about making the history come alive. She gave a fantastic balance of historical facts mixed with human stories. I especially liked going to the other places (still standing WWII apartment and disaster shelter) in addition to the main museum. It is very obvious she is passionate about keeping history alive.

We will always remember the victims of the Tokyo bombing. We hope that the world will remember them too! We would really recommend this tour.
