Our cabin is perfect for your family's next getaway. Rick and I have owned this small retreat for 20 yrs. Our 3 kids and 12 grandchildren continue to enjoy it year-round. We decided to allow other families to join in and experience the blessings the cabin has to offer. Why Cooter's Cabin? Rick's nickname Cooter not the fact that American Coot's differ from other ducks in that they have lobed feet instead of webbed! It is do to a good ol' hunting story, how many nicknames are forged.

Sportsman's Paradise is just minutes away from the Currituck Sound which is famous for it's duck hunting and fishing. It overlooks Tull's Bay and Tull's Creek and is surrounded by the Northwest River Marsh Game Lands. The kitchen and living room have 9 windows so you can look out three sides of the house at the water. The walls are old rough cut boards and the ceilings are plywood. The living room and bedrooms are carpeted and the bathrooms and kitchen are laminate wood floor.

We are so excited to invite you to stay in our sweet little classic cottage, nestled in the heart of Elizabeth City's historic district. 1201 Church Street is surrounded by some of the original Elizabeth City homes dating all the way back to the late 1700s. We fell in love with the charm of the area combined with all of the up-and-coming attractions nearby. Our cottage is close to all of the new downtown breweries, wine bars, trendy restaurants, and waterfront district.

My well equipped one room bungalow sits right on the beach overlooking the confluence of the North River and the Albermarle Sound. Enjoy this quiet, private location with the Outer Banks beaches and attractions only about 15 minutes away. Pet friendy.

Our 100 year old cottage is nestled in the woods just a 5 minute drive from the ocean and only 1/2 mile to trails, boat ramp & kayak launch. Inside raw wood beams, floor to ceiling pine and a loft that kids will love are just some of the unique features our little cabin offers!
