The main bedroom is detached from the living and kitchen, which has a fold out couch for extra guests. It is the perfect retreat, a place to break up your journey or as a base for the many tourist, cycling or walking activities the Waikato has to offer. The cabin has a queen-sized bed with ensuite. The kitchenette has gas hobs with small fridge, kettle, toaster, and all basic utensils. Milk, tea and coffee are included. There’s wifi and a TV with Chromecast.

Kahurangi cottage is the perfect accommodation in Kawhia from which to explore the area. You can drive to Waitomo caves in 1.5 hrs away along a scenic, winding road. Ocean beach is 5 km away, where you can soak in Te Puia hot springs at low tide. Kawhia is known for its annual Kai festival on Waitangi weekend and whaleboat racing on New Year's day.
