NB: LINEN, TOWELS & TOILETRIES NOT PROVIDED! Snug little mid-terrace property in a tiny village on Hadrian's Wall on the English side of the Solway Firth. Rather shabby but full of character & very cosy. Port Carlisle has a faded splendour - built on the site of a fishing village, for a brief time it was a major port serving Carlisle, with its own canal & later a railway; in the 1850s the Firth silted up so ships could no longer get in. Birdwatchers, walkers, fans of history, dogs will love it!

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay just on the outskirts of Lake District. With 3 well sized bedroom and gym equipment available. Separate dinning room straight off the kitchen. *Due to the nature and the age of the building, please be aware that there is a steep set of stairs to the bedrooms.* We also provide instructor lead Clay Pigeon shooting sessions on the farm to our guests to make their stay that bit more unique. Rose Cottage - Dog Friendly

Welcome to Rose Cottage, near Bowness on Solway, our cottage is a lovely getaway far from noise and light pollution in a hamlet called Cardurnock, on a peninsula opposite the Scottish coast. Rose Cottage sleeps two and is (small) dog friendly, is well equipped and has a large garden, a short drive to local pubs. Currently the WIFI is very poor. There are some walks from Rose Cottage onto the shore , at nearby Anthorn or Bowness on Solway. Also many lovely nature reserves close by.
