Thatched pergolas frame the sun sinking behind the islands of Delos and Rhenia at this terraced villa on Mykonos. Built into the hillside like a nest, its indoor and outdoor living areas stretch over several levels, creating plenty of private nooks along with spaces for everyone to gather. The nearest beach is Agios Ioannis, whose stretch of sand could be—and was—the setting for a movie. Settle in to sunny days by the infinity pool, sunbeds, shaded al-fresco living and dining areas, and a wood-fired barbecue, all with views of the Aegean’s glittering expanse. After you’ve watched the sunset, have a post-prandial coffee from the Nespresso machine, switch on the satellite TV or Sonos sound system, and post photos from your holiday via Wi-Fi. Classic stone and whitewashed walls evoke the traditional architecture of Greece’s islands, but inside, this vacation rental takes a more modern tack.
