There is nowhere quite as magical as this: an historic, creaky cottage, at the end of a farmers track below Cader Idris. It's a back-in-time experience, with wooden beams and antique furniture, owned by the same family for over 60 years. Please read all the details carefully before you book. It’s remote both in location and from modern life. You have space, fresh air and tranquillity. It's comfortable but nothing fancy. No TV or wifi, but a woodburner, books and massive views behind the cottage.

Cartref is a mid terraced stone built cottage. The accommodation consists of two bedrooms, each with a double bed, a large comfortable lounge with a small dining area, a fully fitted kitchen.Check in after 3pm,check out before 11am. Unfortunately we do not allow pets in the cottage.There is on street parking outside the cottage but is on a first come basis.If you arrive and no parking just put a note on windscreen to say you are in the cottage with arch over front door .

Learn to windsurf or take out a canoe or rowing boat on the lake. Spend the day clay pigeon shooting, or enjoy the spa and afternoon tea at the Lake Vyrnwy hotel. The stunning Aberdyfi beach is only 29 miles away from Bryn Du. Snowdon 34 miles, and Europes longest zip line 38 miles from the cottage.
